June 9, 2018 - Potomac Antique Aircraft Association Fly-In at Massey Aerodrome |
Bruce B. and I were looking for somewhere to go flying today. The Potomac Antique Aircraft Association was having their annual fly-in over at Massey Aerodrome today. Perfect! This fly-in used to take place at Horn Point, near Cambridge, but was moved to here when Horn Point was no longer viable. |
I know the pilot of the red/white C-180. And of course Paul C.'s Super Cub which is on the cover of this month's Kitplanes magazine!
Matt T. flew up in his RV-7A.
The action was on top of the grassy knoll.

The corn is off to a good start this year.
This RV-4 has been in the area for a long time and is a Massey fly-in veteran.
Matt T. and friend wait for a Citabria to taxi past.
My old Trunk Monkey friend Tom B. was on hand in Delta Delta -- the blue and yellow Citabria -- next to Bruce's RV-3 and my bird.

There's a good shot of Delta Delta. Tom takes great care of it. It looks as good as the day he bought it, brand spanking new.

Card-carrying members of Potomac Antique Airplane Association: Greta, Dan & Kathy. All are in my EAA Chapter. I think that's Kathy's Luscombe in the background.
Now this guy knows how to attend a fly-in in comfort. A self-propelled Lazy Boy chair!
Bucker Bu-131 Jungmann. |

Bruce and I had some fun fly over the Eastern Shore before heading home.
Later, Bruce received the below plaque in the mail for winning the Best Custom-Built award! All right!
